Luo De-Xiu London 2008

We are really pleased to announce formally that Luo De Xiu will holding seminars in London this July 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th.

Luo De-Xiu is widely regarded as a great teacher worldwide. He comes from Taipei, Taiwan where he has a school of Internal Martial Arts.
A good many martial artists go to train there from the source. He tours America and Europe once a year where he has several students teaching his syllabus from the Gao Yi-Sheng lineage of Baguazhang and Xing-Yi.

His reputation is growing from these tours and they shall continue for a long time to come.

Luo De Xiu was a full contact fighting champion in Taiwan in the 1970's, and is recognised internationally as an exceptionally gifted teacher today. His knowledge combines no-nonsense fighting skills with a the deeper context of internal martial arts as a form of meditation and personal development. If you are training internal martial arts you will certainly benefit from his empirical assistance with your progress. If you are learning Baguazhang or Xing-Yi then these workshops are simply not to be missed!
This year there will be a focus on the beginners level skills and strengthening foundation skills. There are regular classes for those interested in starting Xing-Yi and Bagua running in London.

Friday July 4th 18:30 - 21:30H
Fighting methods – body movement - drills

This seminar will look at the practical application of Bagua in a free context. It will cover movement, attack and defense drills and how they can be developed for use in fighting/sparring and development of combinations, and emphasising correct footwork.

Saturday July 5th 9:00 - 12:30
Morning session - Prototype / Opening techniques

Luo De-Xiu will be focusing on 'prototype' or 'opening' techniques. These will be covered with the first Houtain set, which contain many 'setup' techniques that will build to improve your combinations and understanding of the body structures found in the circular bagua practice.

There will be form tuition - theory - and drills to add depth to the seminar. It will be useful seminar for all Baguazhang stylists.

There will be a prompt start 9:30pm and finish on time 1:00pm for lunch break.

Saturday July 5th 1:30 - 4:30
Afternoon session - Baguazhang throwing & tripping

Following last 3 years excellent sessions Luo De-Xiu will be covering some of his favourite throwing, tripping and sweep drills.
We are using the Bloomsbury Fitness centre.

Sunday July 6th 9:30 - 12:30
Morning Session - Bagua 'Ho TIen' (Straight Line methods) : (Gen - Skillful)

Luo De-Xiu will be covering the technique based third line of Hand methods.
There will be form tuition - theory - and drills to add depth to the seminar. It will be useful seminar for all Baguazhang stylists.

Sunday July 6th 1:30 - 17:30
Afternoon session - Bagua: Circle form practice

This seminar will focus on developing structure, intent and smoothness/fluidity in the circular forms of baguazhang.

Monday July 7th 18:30 - 21:00
Evening Session - San Shou 'sticking hands'

This session is open to regular students only. Laoshr will be focussing on San shou sticking hands practice.

Luo De-Xiu will be covering these training methods:
San Shou - (taught as 'sticking hands' in Taiwan)

Savings are available but only for multiple sessions:

'Single sessions' are one morning, one afternoon or one evening seminar.
'Double sessions' are either a full day training on Saturday or Sunday.
